EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR…
This Executive Director will serve as the driving visionary force to lead San Antonio towards becoming a national model for inclusive procurement.  The Supply SA initiative will also support participating agencies in implementing priority recommendations regarding their procurement policies and processes. Through these ongoing efforts Supply SA creates a mechanism for public agencies in San Antonio to share information about procurement forecasts to assist with planning and decision-making, as well as share best-practices and innovations to promote a more effective and efficient local public procurement ecosystem.
 

• Manage the operations and fiscal activities of Supply SA including development and management of annual budget and work plan, business certifications, procurement service center activities and contracted services
• Build a high performing team that will work to promote a fair and timely certification process. The goal will be  to decrease the certification processing time to 30 days or less with an ultimate result of increasing the number of small local business that are bidding on government projects
• Support de-bundling of contracts to encourage a higher volume of subcontracting opportunity
• Leverage technology to improve ease of access to portals required to submit proposals in a faster and more user-friendly manner
• Provide support and serve the leaders of the contributing organizations to show proof of concept
• Demonstrate the promise of Supply SA through analytics that move the needle – this Leader will work to develop a uniform regional reporting system and have the opportunity display these results on the national procurement stage
• Oversight of $1.2M Operating Budget

• Executive level experience, proven track record of leading teams through change and growth – this individual will be the catalyst to bring the vision of Supply SA to life.  Experience leading and engaging with small businesses, nonprofits, government contracting vehicles highly preferred
• A thought leader with a track record of successfully creating and implementing cutting-edge ideas
• Passionate about the future of the procurement economy, will take a proactive approach in engaging businesses to pursue local opportunities through relationship building
• Ability to take a practical approach, will work to streamline bid processes to reduce timelines and redundancies
• Proven examples of successfully engaging with a Board of Directors and community members
• Experience and knowledge of the federal, state and local San Antonio procurement process
• Exposure to certifications such as S/M/WBE/DBE or ACDBE
• Strong public speaking and communication skills
• Bilingual:  English and Spanish Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree
