What Is The Role...
The Director of Capital Construction will lead capital improvement projects and design concepts. The Director of Capital Construction provides strategic leadership, planning, and execution of the San Antonio Zoo’s capital improvement program.

YOUR TYPICAL DAY...
  • Shape the future of the Zoo by leading a multi-year portfolio of existing capital projects that enhance guest experiences, animal habitats, and conservation initiatives.
  • Work effectively with all layers of the organization including external contractors
  • Lead cross-functional communication with internal stakeholders while effectively managing external vendors and contractors

BACKGROUND PROFILE...
  • Senior-level experience in construction project management experience, with proven success delivering multi-million-dollar capital improvement projects from concept to completion
  • Autonomous servant style leader with 5 years of management experience and a passion for conservation
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or closely related field.
